Vegetarians can shut up

Ok, so it's all more complicated than that. But the main reason the Amazon is currently being deforested is so that people can grow soy and make your gelatenous meat subsitute. Alright, I like tofu a lot too, but the point is that simplistic ideologies like vegetarianism are not the way to save the world. Eating local food seems like the best way to do it.

Wow, that is a really convincing argument. If there are any vegetarians out there who want to take a shot at convincing me of something, feel free, I would actually really like it, but please, honey, what are you? 16? angsty? take it elsewhere.

There are those of us who are vegans/vegetarians (veg*ns) because we don't want to pay people to hurt or kill animals. And those of us who also care about the environment know that buying soybeans can pay for deforestation and thus try to avoid buying unfriendly soy products. Any veg*n who tells you that going veg*n is the way to "save the world" is full of it. It's just a necessary part of the way, since in a saved world we shouldn't hurt other sentient beings, human or otherwise.
