Some friends--let's call them acquaintances, rather--are proposing a trip to the South to go catfish noodling, the refined and increasingly rare art of hand-grabbing sixty-pound catfish by the mouth from their hidey holes in muddy creeks and hauling them to the surface.

Sure, some noodlers drown, others are simply lacerated by catfish spines or the sandpapery mouths, but fame and fortune awaits the greats.

And man, is that catfish tasty.
